Beast Wildlife Adventures (BWA) is a specialized nature and adventure based travel program of the Guatemalan tour operator K'uk Tours that has been operating for more than ten years in Guatemala, Belize and Honduras. K'uk Tours has organized exclusive circuits, focusing on volunteering, cultural tourism, FIT and tailor-made travel.

To ensure our customers' satisfaction, BWA's philosophy is to manage small groups no more than 12 passengers per journey. We also work directly with local communities, private nature reserves owners and protected areas administrators; all of this, to ensure our trips’ environmental sustainability.

EL MIRADOR QUEST TREK
The basic 5-day trek will take you from the Carmelita community to El Mirador – Rio Azul National Park. On the path to El Mirador, you will have the opportunity to walk on ancient Mayan walkways, admire some of the most amazing sunsets and spot some of the typical Mayan Biosphere Reserve wildlife such as: howler and spider monkeys, parrots, Ocellated Turkeys and Coatis. At El Mirador Archaeological Site, you’ll be able to observe the famous Hero Twins frieze and, of course, the gigantic pyramid of La Danta. This trek is managed in association with Carmelita local community.
MAYA TREK EL ZOTZ - TIKAL
The basic 3 days – 2 nights’ trek will take you from El Zotz Biotope to Tikal National Park. You will have the chance to follow the steps of the ancient Mayan ruler Siyaj Kak and explore El Zotz archaeological site. In addition, you’ll be able observe thousands of bats flying out of their shelters at dusk. As few people have experienced, we enter Tikal through the backdoor surrounded by the dense jungle. This trek is managed in association with El Cruce Dos Aguadas local community. On the last day of the trek, before entering Tikal National Park, visitors will be required to carry all their personal belongings, but no worries, BWA will arrange porters to help our clients during this final journey.
This is one of three majestic volcanoes that surrounds Antigua’s valley which composes of the Central Volcanic Chain. The Volcán de Fuego has an altitude of 6020 ft above sea level, and from its summit, it is the best place to observe the Volcán de Fuego’s eruptions. The Volcán de Fuego is 1 of 4 active volcanoes in Guatemala. The hike to the top is moderate and takes about 6 to 7 hours. The campsite is set on special platforms where you will have a front view of the Volcano’s amazing night-time eruptions along with an unforgettable sunrise. For a small fee and to make the ascent more comfortable, BWA customers can hire horses to carry their luggage(s) to the camp site and back to the trailhead of the ascent
Pacaya is probably the most visited volcano of the country. It is an active volcano that is not very difficult to climb and located near Antigua Guatemala. If visitors get lucky, they might even experience some lava coming down from the crater to the skirts of the volcano. The typical hike will take about an hour to reach the most popular viewpoint where visitors will have an amazing sight of the volcanos' summit. However, by demand, it is possible to ascend the volcano through other trails and get access closer to the summit; of course, this will be a more physically demanding activity that will take about 3 to 4 hours of hiking before reaching the highest point allowed for tourists.
FINCA EL PILAR HIKE
Located in the heart of the Central Volcanic Chain (CVC) just a few minutes away from the beautiful colonial city of Antigua, Guatemala we have Finca El Pilar. This Finca protects some important pine - oak and cloud forest patches. It reaches a maximum altitude of 8695 ft. above sea level and is the perfect place to go bird watching (+150 spp) and mountain biking or hiking. BWA customers have exclusive access to camping sites, hiking trails and routes such as the one used to ascend to the top of El Cucurucho Hill.
FINCA EL PILAR MTB
With more than 20 kilometers of internal roads, forest trails and many varied topography; Finca El Pilar is an excellent spot for mountain biking, long ascents and also for some downhill sections. This site has hosted multiple mountain bike races, which guarantees clients good quality on its rustic trails. BWA coordinates with specialized mountain bike guides in order for our clients to choose the best routes according to their technical and physical capacities.
This journey will take you through different biomes and ecological landscapes of Guatemala. It will give you the chance to appreciate some of the unique and regional endemic species that inhabit the country. Despite its relatively small size, Guatemala has different types of habitats, high rates of endemism; as well as, a close relationship between biodiversity and the local indigenous culture.
Land of Volcanoes
This journey is an adventure through some of Guatemala's most iconic volcanoes. During this trip, you’ll have the opportunity to climb an active volcano, ascend the highest peak of Central America, and observe an active volcano erupt while camping on a neighboring volcano. The Guatemalan highlands are recognized by its volcanic soil and a special geomorphology that contributes in creating the ideal ecological conditions to produce the best coffee in the world.
EL MIRADOR QUEST
Origins of the Mayans
This Quest is a 5-day trekking expedition within the Mayan Biosphere Reserve in search of the lost Mayan city of El Mirador. This ancient settlement is considered to be the origin point of one of the most powerful and influential dynasties of the Mayan civilization, identified with the Serpent's Head glyph (Kan, in Mayan language). This adventure is complemented by hiking an active volcano and visiting Antigua, Guatemala which is a charming city characterized by its classical colonial architecture.
